About
Mike Fontaine is a filmmaker and SFX artist based in NYC. At the age of 9, he became a protégée of legendary makeup artist Dick Smith (The Exorcist, The Godfather).
He received an Oscar Nomination this year for his makeup work on Colin Farrell as the Penguin in The Batman. He received a Guild Award for Coming 2 America and an Emmy Nomination for Boardwalk Empire. His credits of over 40 films include The Wolf of Wall Street, True Detective 3 and The Place Beyond The Pines. Mike has also worked with Heidi Klum on creating many of her iconic Halloween looks over the past decade. His debut short film, Haxan, premiered at Sitges International Film Festival.

His debut feature, Human Affairs, stars Julie Sokolowski, Kerry Condon, and David Harbour. Films he has directed or produced have screened at Cannes, Deauville, Sitges, Taipei, SXSW, Slamdance, and others. He is currently in post-production on a feature documentary about method acting and the nature of reality.
Charles Birns is a producer, director, and writer based in New York and Los Angeles.

PETER ELIOT BUNTAINE, CINEMATOGRAPHER
Peter Eliot Buntaine’s award-winning film and advertising work has earned the Emmy, Cannes Lion, and Grand Clio among other prizes and nominations. His work has screened at Tribeca, Sundance, Director’s Fortnight, HotDocs and other US and international festivals. He has also conducted cinematography workshops at institutions such as New York University, the New School, and the Tribeca Film Fellowship. He lives in Los Angeles.

Jes Nelson is a performer, choreographer, and the creator behind the movement intelligence platform Dance Lawyer. She graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and studied under Terry Knickerbocker and Monica Mirabile of FlucT. Recent performance and movement credits include Pussy Riot, Barbara Kruger, Yaeji, Bacardi, Polo, Nick Hakim, and James Blake. She currently lives and works in NYC.

Sophia Ahrens (born 1996) is a German-British fashion model and actress. She first appeared in the Prada FW13/14 Campaign shot by Steven Meisel, followed by Marc Jacobs Daisy Fragrance with Juergen Teller, video directed by Sofia Coppola. She was nominated for Best Actress at the Institute´s Film Festival 2023 for the short film Lou & Gem.

Reed Rushes is an actor and performance artist living and working in Queens, New York. Described as “following in the lineage of queer performance” by Exeunt Magazine, they have toured their work nationally and internationally. They are co-founder of award winning theater company The Wardrobe Ensemble and are one-half of performance art duo, EXULT.

DANIEL WHOL, COMPOSER
Born in Paris and now living in Los Angeles, Daniel Wohl is a composer who blends electronics with acoustic instrumentation to “surprising and provocative effect” (NPR). He has contributed scores to HBO’s comedy-mystery series Search Party, Oscar winner Morgan Neville’s documentary on Orson Welles, They’ll Love Me When I’m Dead, and additional music for Patty Jenkins’s noir thriller I Am the Night.
